The promises of pardon of our Lord Jesus Christ

“Pardon, Oh my God, Pardon, I Cry to Thee; Pardon me my offenses, Pardon, Lord, grant me.”

This is the supplication of a sinner to Him Who created him, to God Whom he has offended.

God is just – He rewards the good and punishes the wicked. He is also merciful as borne out by the Book of Books and history of mankind. He has made assurance of pardon to sinners who are repentant.

God asks of the sinner to be humble and to acknowledge his sins and to be sorry for them.

“If we acknowledge our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all iniquity.” (I John 1:9)

We should not hesitate to seek the pardon and mercy of God: we should go to Him the moment we fall into sin:

“Delay not to be concerted to the Lord, and defer it not from day to day. For His wrath shall come on a sudden.” (Eccl. 5:8-9)

God listens to the prayer of a humble penitent sinner.

“A humble, and penitent heart, O God, Thou wilt not despair.” (Psalm 50:19)

Be frank to admit your sins, and hide them not when you confess them and ask forgiveness for them:

“He that hides his sins shall not prosper; but he that shall confess and forsake them, shall obtain mercy.” (Prov. 28:13)

Our Lord Himself spoke of the joy of a pardoned sinner:

“There will be joy in heaven over one sinner who repents, more than over ninety-nine who have no need of repentance.” (Luke 15:7)

The apostles themselves understood and prescribed the measure to obtain pardon:

“Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out.” (Acts 3:19)

A sinner needs but to approach the channel of the grace of Pardon in the Sacrament of Penance. Our Lord Jesus Christ, after His resurrection appeared to the apostles and gave them (and their successors) the power to forgive sins:

“Receive the Holy Spirit; whose sins you shall forgive, they are forgiven then, and whose sins you shall retain, they are retained.” (John 20:23)

Miracles of Our Lord of Pardon

There was a woman living in the mountains and was leading an exemplary life. She, wishing to know how many were the wounds that Christ Our Lord had received on His Most Sacred Body requested the Lord, with devotion to reveal them to her. The Lord appeared to her and said:

“You must know that the wounds that I received on my body were five thousand four hundred fifty-five and therefore, I tell you that all those  who in memory of them would recite FIFTEEN OUR FATHER’s AND HAIL MARY‘s during the year, shall take away from Purgatory fifteen souls and shall be relieved from the penance that should be done for so many mortal sins, and besides, shall obtain the grace and the confirmation of good works.”

“Also, whoever recites, during one whole year these prayers, I will give him fifteen days beforehand, My Body to eat, and he will not be hungry and My blood to drink and he will not be thirsty, and I will place before him the sign of the cross that will serve him as his guardian and defense; and I, together with My Most Holy Mother, shall attend to him in the hour of his death, and I will receive benignly his soul and will take it to the eternal pleasure, and once there, I will give him drink of Divinity and whoever should have true sorrow and contrition or repentance for his sins, and comply with the prayers during one year, I will pardon all his sins from the day he was born until his death and I will save him from the power of the demon and from his temptations; and if he is wicked; he will become good and continually I will save his soul from the fires of hell: and that whatever he would ask from my Mother I will grant and give him the life that will entitle him to live in my Kingdom and inhabit with me eternally.

“Whoever takes with him this prayer, and gives it to somebody to read, or will show it to any person, will obtain in this life pleasure and reward. Wherever he may be, this prayer will keep him in peace and intact in the same manner that I kept the heavy waves of the sea. Any person, be it a man or a woman, who would have this prayer shall not die suddenly, shall not be persecuted by his or her enemies, nor shall they be conquered in battle, or imprisoned, or drowned in the sea, nor burned by fire or by lightnings; nor shall be deposed against by any false witness. Any woman who is about to deliver and should hang this prayer on her neck, will deliver easily without danger.”

This prayer was brought over by Don Juan Cardoso from Rome. It was found on the body of a man who was thrown into the sea with a big stone tied to his neck. This man remained floating in the sea without drowning. When he was rescued from the waves the prayer was found in his possession. Any one carrying it, must carry it with sincere faith, because God does not know how to fail in His promises. Every day, say the following:

Prayer

My Lord Jesus Christ, remember that I am a sinner. Most Holy Virgin pray for me. You shall always be praised and blessed. Pray for this sinner to Your Beloved Son, precious beauty of the Angels, the Prophets, and Patriarchs, Crown of the Martyrs, Apostles and Confessors, Glory of the Seraphs, Crown of the Virgins, save me from the most fearful figure of the demon when my soul departs from my body. Oh Most Holy Fount of Piety and Beauty of Jesus Christ, Joy of the Heaven, Consolation of the Clergy, Remedy in our works: with you Virgin Most Prudent, the Angels are happy. Recommend my soul and the soul of all devout Christians, pray for us to Your Blessed Son and take us to the Eternal Paradise where You reign and live forever and there we will venerate you eternally. Amen.

Sovereign Virgin Mary, Mother of the Living God, because you have delivered Him, pray for all us sinners so that He may pardon us, save us from the wicked enemy that is fighting us, and grant us that eternal glory. Blessed be forever the Sacred Passion and Death of Our Lord, Jesus Christ. Amen.

The above referred to prayers are worthy of credit because they have been approved by the Supreme Pontiffs.

The Fraternity of Kindness

What a vast increase in the sum total of human happiness it would mean if each one of us were to be always just as kind as he could be.

Why, earth would be almost heaven if all unkindness were eliminated from our lives….. It was such thoughts as these which came to a pious nun during her meditation and which prompted her to start the “Fraternity of Kindness.”

These are the rules:

1. Not to think unkindly of others.
2. Not to speak unkindly of others.
3. Not to act unkindly towards others.

These rules imply, of course, the opposite virtues of always thinking kindly of others, and of speaking kindly and of being kind to everyone. And all this, for the love of God.

Now there is a penalty attached to every violation of the rules, a double penalty, which consist of: (a) saying a short prayer for the victim of our unkindness, and (b) performing some acts of kindness towards that person that same day. If the latter is impracticable, a second short prayer may be as short as “My Jesus Mercy, ” or “Jesus meek and humble of heart, make my heart like unto thine,” or as long as an Our Father.

Simple enough, isn’t it? And how easy! Of course, we shall all want to join. And how much happier we should all be for it – we, and all those with whom we come in contact. What must one do to join? Simply make up one’s mind that he wishes to be a member and begin immediately to keep the rules. No enrollment is needed.

Should anyone be sufficiently enthusiastic to want to spread the Fraternity, by trying to persuade his friends to become members – as we shall all want to do – he will by that very fact become an “Apostle of kindness.”

The ‘Patron and model’ of the Fraternity of kindness is the Sacred Heart of Jesus, burning with love for all mankind.

The ‘reward’ for the faithful observance of rules is here below to scatter sunshine broadcast wherever we go to be beloved by our associates and, what is more important, by the loving Heart of Our Redeemer with all that this implies and then, one day, to hear those joyous words: Come, ye blessed of my Father, possess the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world, for … whatsoever you did to the least of My brethren, ye did it unto Me.”

One Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory be to the Father, to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.

Veneration of the Wounds (On the Shoulder of Christ)

Years ago in Clairvaux, France, we are told that St. Bernard once asked of the Lord which among his sacrifices and sufferings was greatest, most painful and least known. Our Lord answered: “I have a most painful wound on my shoulders as I carried the cross on the bitter way to Calvary, which pained me more than did my other wounds, but which was never known because it was never seen. Do honor this wound in your prayers and I will give anything you ask through the merits of this same wound. And all who will venerate this wound will obtain from Me the remission of their sins, and I will no longer remember the mortal sins they have committed and already forgiven.”

Prayer

O dearest, Jesus, Lamb of God most meek, I, a miserable sinner, render homage and worship to the wound upon Thy shoulder made by the heavy cross Thou didst carry. Its weight tore Thy flesh and bared Thy shoulder bones, which caused Thee sufferings more than did Thy other wounds. I adore Thee, O grieving Jesus, I praise, thank Thee for Thy adorable and most painful wound. Vouchsafe to grant me, through the excessive pain and unmeasured weight of the cross to have mercy on me a sinner. Forgive me my mortal and venial sins, and guide me on to heaven through the way of the cross. Amen.
